Chris has a varied skill set being an experienced Finance Director, business process consultant and food and sustainability researcher.

In addition to his financial qualifications he is trained in non-financial performance measurement approaches including SROI, a system to measure social and environmental impact. Chris also holds a Masters degree in Food Policy, which critically appraises the food system in domestic and international settings.

Chris' wide ranging experience brings a unique perspective to any project he works on. His extensive experience in financial and business management gives him an informed viewpoint of the practical implications of more theoretical thinking when carrying out policy focused research work. His sustainability knowledge, when used alongside his financial accumen in an applied business setting, helps organisations make informed and effective business decisions at both operational and strategic levels within a framework that considers environmental, social and financial values.

Chris combines assured technical and analytical expertise with a friendly, down-to-earth approach and an underlying belief that the simplest solutions are usually the best. He is a clear communicator with an ability to listen and inform at all levels within your organisation and successfully manage stakeholder relationships.

In addition to his commitments at Purple Dot Chris is part-time Finance Director at the Law & Development Partnership. He has previously worked at the climate change charity 10:10, UBS Investment Bank, Hearst Magazines and the John Lewis Partnership. He recently stepped down after three years as Treasurer and elected Board Member for the Brighton & Hove Food Partnership.
